Welcome to my blog!

Skating experience: I started skating when I was 2,5 years old so practically my whole life. When I was young I always competed against Wouter Hebbrecht(current 200m world champion), it was usually him or me first and second. I skated for Rollerblade Holland, Maple Fratelli world team, Bont Europe and Powerslide/steenbergen. Since I was 20 years old I got diagnosed with a herniated disc, I never wanted to have surgery so I learned to live with it and adapt to the situation. In skating it affected me in a way that I could not do long trainings and had bad blood circulation in my left leg, which gave me coordination problems.

Best results: Numerous National titles(Belgium champion, 20 something…), Bronze medal in relay at European Youth championships, 12th and 14th at Berlin Marathon, 11th at Sursee Swiss Inline Cup.

Country: I currently live in Saltillo/Mexico but I am from Belgium. I moved to Mexico so I could live with my girlfriend!

Occupation: I just started my own company giving skating lessons to kids and adults, birthday parties, school courses and a new concept of teaching English through sports. I also sell skates and one day I hope to own a skating rink and help to develop a skate. I have a Bachelors degree in “Sports management/marketing and entrepreneurship” at the University of Applied Sciences, Department of Sports, Management and Business in Amsterdam.

Why this blog? I would like to share some of the experiences that I have in teaching skating and offer possible solutions to daily struggles like back pain, sports training, sleeping, analyzing techniques, etc… It’s also a cool way to kinda keep in touch with the skating community and remind me of all the great things this sport has given me!
