So training doesn’t always have to be purely technical, especially for kids you should mix it up with games that serve their needed skills. If you want to keep kids in your club, make sure they have fun at a young age. I will write an article on the background of age groups soon, for now I’ll just present you 2 of the favorite games that our kids like to play. I live in Mexico so the games have Spanish names but I also translated them to English.
First one is called: “La Puerta” = The gate
The object is to cross trough the gate without being tagged, if you get tagged you have to help the person in the middle. Skaters keep crossing until everybody has been tagged, the winner goes in the middle for the next game. To keep everything organized you should always let the middle person say ” Ready? 1,2,3 GO!!”

Second game is called: ” La Basura” = The Garbage
Every kid has a number. The objective is to collect as many cones as possible, kids can only take one cone at a time. The one who has the most cones wins the game.
